Hydrometer - temperature corrections
Hydrometers give accurate reading when the temperature of the liquid is 60 degrees. The following table shows how to correct for temperature differences.
70 degrees
Add .001
77 degrees
Add .002
84 degrees
Add .003
Converting to all grain and vice versa
Amount of pale malt x .8125 = amount of liquid malt
Amt. of liquid extract X1.23 = amt pale maly
Amount of pale malt X .6875 = Amount of dry malt extract
Amt dry malt extract X 1.45 = amt pale malt
Amt. of wheat malt X .937 = Amt of liquid wheat extract
